 Tom Forcade wore many hats during his short time on Earth: drug  smuggler, political activist, writer, intellectual, self-described  "social architect."  However, he is best known as the founder of High  Times magazine and the father of marijuana journalism.  A courageous  radical whose brainchild brought marijuana out of the underground,  Forcade ultimately changed the way the world perceived the plant.

Howard Marks will be best remembered as “Mr Nice” – one of 43 aliases during his criminal career t was an extraordinary life: international drug smuggling, secret  meetings with MI6, games of cat and mouse with the Drug Enforcement  Administration and, in the end, a US prison sentence. Howard Marks, who  died on 10 April and will be best be remembered as "Mr Nice" – one of 43 aliases during his criminal career – pulled off all manner  of madcap plots and stunts during his time in the drugs game. Yet  perhaps his greatest feat was his transformation in the public  imagination into an alternative national treasure.

Brian O'Dea is a noted former Canadian Drug Smuggler. 

Born in Newfoundland in 1948, he first worked as a minor drug dealer in the province. Moving up he became an importer of cannabis to Canada from the UK . After being arrested on a minor charge in Canada he served a brief sentence before moving to Jamaica, where he coordinated cannabis and cocaine smuggling operations going from Columbia to the USA and Canada. Made more infamous by his Toronto Star resume!
